Use synthetic division to find P(-3) for P(x)=x^4-2x^3-4x+4 the answer I got is x^2-5x+11 r-29 and I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Can someone help me?

You shouldn't get a polynomial result... Here is a guide to it: http://www.mesacc.edu/~scotz47781/mat120/notes/divide_poly/remainder/remainder_thm.html

Basically if you are confident that the remainder is \(-29\), then \(P(-3)=-29\).

thats what I meant, the answer was -29, thats what I needed help with. I know how to write the answer, I needed to know if it was the right answer...
