OpenStudy (marinedude42):

In what direction is the line containing the point (5, -6) and (-2, -6) going? A. down and to the right B. vertical C. horizontal D. up and to the left

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

It is horizontal since the y intercepts are the same. |dw:1398183114951:dw|

OpenStudy (marinedude42):

any problem like this is the same right?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

No, it's depending. if the x intercepts are the same, it will be vertical [ex. (5, 0) and (5, 5) would be vertical] if the y-intercepts are the same then it'd be horizontal. If none of the intercepts are the same, it will be either down or up. you have to graph the intercepts.

OpenStudy (marinedude42):

i get what you're saying. thanks i gave you a medal

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Oh, thanks..

OpenStudy (marinedude42):
