Math Help? Check my answers? 1. Find the next three terms in the sequence. 30, 22, 14, 6, ... -3, -12, -21 -1, -8, -15** -1, -2, 3, -2, -10, -18 2. Find the next three terms in the sequence. 3, 6, 9, 12, ... 15, 18, 20 15, 19, 20 15, 18, 21 14, 18, 21** 3. Find the next three terms in the sequence. -1, 9, 19, 29, ... 38, 37, 32** 40, 51, 62, 39, 49, 59 38, 47, 56
1. wrong 2. wrong 3. wrong
Really? I'm not sure on how to solve these problems.
Now, let's stop guessing. Can you tell me the difference in the first sequence, what do you do each time, to obtain the next term ?
Aren't the terms decreasing by 8 ? So after 6 , you would have -2, -10, -18
yes, correct! So your answer for the first problem is option D. I am sure you can do the rest of the problems similarly. (all sequences are arithmetic)
(all sequences are arithmetic in your 3 problems... but not always :) )
In number 2, the terms are increasing by 3. So, it would be 15, 18, & 21.
YES !
& Number 3 is -1, 9, 19, 29, adding 10 each time So 29 + 10 = 39. So that answer would be 39, 49, and 59? :)
YES !
You are a good worker ! I like how you did it :)
Thanks for the help! :D
Just courteous, what class is this? Trigonometry ?
curious
Pre-Algebra.
Sequences in pre algebra ? I've also seen this topic in algebra 2, and trig, and even in some calculus 1 textbooks. I would say that you really have very advanced , strong level math course.
G☼☼D luck with rest of the work... @LydiaMartin121 you can alwasy tag me if you need.
Thanks! Bye. :)
