OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many ions are there in iron (III) chloride

OpenStudy (jfraser):

what's the formula for iron (III) chloride?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

FeCl3

OpenStudy (jfraser):

so it looks that there's 2 \(types\) of ions, but how \(many\) ions are in that formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4, I believe i anion and 3 cations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one anion

OpenStudy (jfraser):

there are 4, but swap the order. The \(Fe^{+3}\) is the only positive, and there are 3 \(Cl^{-1}\) anions
