The number of N bacteria in a culture can be modeled through the continuous growth model. If the there were 100 bacteria initially and the value for k is 0.5, what will the population of the bacteria be in 10 hours, where t is the number of hours? A 14,841 B 148 C 165 D 22,026 E 500

\[N=N_0e ^{kt}\]

Could you help show me the steps to answer this on my calculator please? Thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[N_0 = initial bacteria\] e= natural log k= .5 t= time (10 hrs) take e^(k*t) then multiply that by \[N_0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I would multiply that No by 100 after solving the e^(.5*10)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[100*e ^{.5*10}\]

Thank you so much. I appreciate the time you took to help me jN7. (:
