What's your question?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what do you need
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What is the ‘r’ value of the following sequence: 6, -18, 54, -162…?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hello?
OpenStudy (a1234):
R is the ratio between those numbers. Take one number and divide it by the previous number to get the "r" value.

In other words: The first 2 terms of your sequence are 6, -18.
To obtain the 2nd from the 1st, you would have to multiply the first by what number?

thanks:)

hey mathmale!
OpenStudy (mathmale):

no? ok then
OpenStudy (mathmale):
Ask yourself: If we take the first term of the sequence (6) and multiply it by your 54, will you get -18?
(6)(54) = -18 ??
OpenStudy (mathmale):
Very sorry; I have to get off the internet. Divide -18 by 6; the result will be the correct r.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3!! omg ur a genius!
OpenStudy (a1234):
That's -3, not 3.
