xy-4y+x^2-4x

hartnn (hartnn):

you know whats factor by grouping ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this the answer right.... x(y+x)-4(y+x)

hartnn (hartnn):

thats first step! and its correct :) now factor out (y+x) from those 2 terms, what do u get ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-4(y+x)

hartnn (hartnn):

i meant to factor out y+x because it is common from both terms from first term, 'x' remains, and from 2nd term, '-4' remains now that is correct, but do not forget to put brackets! \(\large (x-4)(y+x)\) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok got it
