please help me somebody !!!!!
What?
You need help in math?.... ok then
Instead of asking help, you should ask the question.
find the point that divides the line segment AB into a ratio of 2:3.
I don't know yall im really stuck
A(x,y) = (-4,6) B(x,y) = (5,1) Let say the point we are looking for is P(x,y). For a linear line length ratio is also equal to vertical and horizontal part ratios. For x : \[\frac{ [x component of A]-x }{ x-[x component of B] } = \frac{ 2 }{ 3 } = \frac{ -4-x }{ x-5 }\] \[2(x-5) = 3(-4-x)\] \[5x = -2\] x = -2/5 Similar to x, find y. Then do the same calculations for the ratio 3/2. In total you will have two points.
@candace21 hmmm can you see the coordinates for A and B?
so whats the answer for the question I gave you ?
