is electromagnetic energy that is described in wavelengths.

OpenStudy (kainui):

So for light, the relationship between energy and frequency is simply: \[E= h \nu\] h is planck's constant and the little v-looking thing is a greek letter nu which stands for frequency and E is of course energy. Since the speed of light is a constant we can relate frequency to its wavelength with this simple formula:\[c= \lambda \nu\] lamda is the wavelength, and c is the speed of light. Solving for nu and plugging this equation into the other one we get the relationship between energy and wavelength Anything you don't understand I can go into considerable depth with, but that's sort of a good starting point I think.
