1. The specific heat of silver is 0.235 J/g·°C. How much heat is needed to raise the temperature of an 8-gram silver ring by 50°C? Show your work and include the correct units with your answer. 2.Tori wants to increase the temperature of 500 grams of water from 20°C to 100°C. If the specific heat of water is4.18 J/g·°C, how much heat is needed? Show your work. Round your answer to the thousands place and include the correct units with your answer. 3.Gold has a specific heat of 0.130 J/g·°C. If 195 joules of heat are added to 15 grams of gold, how much does thetemperature of the gold change? Show your work and include the correct units with your answer 4.A plastic container with a mass of 30 grams gains 1,140 joules of heat. If the temperature of the container increases 20°C, what is the specific heat of the plastic in the container? 5.A silver coin and a gold coin each have a mass of exactly 6.6 grams. The specific heat of silver is 0.235 J/g·°C, and the specific heat of gold is 0.130 J/g·°C. Which coin requires more heat to raise its temperature by 40°C? Show your work.

all these questions can be solved from one equation. The specific heat capacity tells you how much heat (Joules) is required to raise 1 g of mass by 1 degC so total heat required Q = c *m * delta T where c= specific heat capacity, m= mass and delta T is the change in temperature Use that equation - or re-arrange it, and put in the values from the questions to solve.
