How did the U.S. government respond to entrance into World War II?

Not sure if this would be word for word with what you're needing the answer on, but the U.S. Government was hesitant to enter the war in Europe, especially after WWI, and tried to stick to neutrality without cutting themselves off with their European trading partners. This lead to things such as the Lend-Lease Act, and the Cash and Carry Act. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the U.S. had little to no choice in joining, and sided with the Allies against the Axis Powers. I hope this helps!
