Evaluate the following expression. 6^-3

OpenStudy (harrisonshark):

please help fast

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because you have a negative exponent, to get rid of that, you move the power that's being raised to the bottom of a fraction, in this case 6, to the denominator, this will result in \[\frac{ 1 }{ 6^{3} }\] which if you need, is the same as \[\frac{ 1 }{ 6 x 6 x 6 }\]

OpenStudy (harrisonshark):

thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excuse me, i need to fix something i typed instead of "you move the power that's being raised" change that to "you move the number that's being raised"

OpenStudy (harrisonshark):

so its stil 1/6^3 right?
