Which word correctly completes the sentence? I couldn't keep up with my brother, who ran at a __________ pace. A. rabbits' B. rabbit's C. rabbits @paki @blazersdc1 @Hero @kaylaelizabeth
@texaschic101
I think it would be A. The ' after the s shows possession. The ' before the s would be rabbit is. Rabbits would be more than 1 rabbit
I am not 100% sure, but I am guessing rabbits' (A)
or possibly C
Wouldn't that be used if there is more than one rabbit?
Rabbits' shows possession. Ask yourself, whos pace is it? The rabbits
it might be C
option C
Yes...I think it is C because you are not trying to show possession.
sorry... option A is rite here....
scroll to the very bottom of the page the link opens
It says "who ran at *A* ____ pace." Because it says a, it is insinuating it is singular, therefore it would be one rabbit. "a rabbit's pace." If it was more than one rabbit it would be "rabbits'", which is incorrect. C is also incorrect because shows no possession. Whose pace is it with no possession? It's the rabbit's and you need to show that. The CORRECT answer is B.
singular noun l plural noun my child's dog l my children's dog the man's work l the men's work the mouse's cage l the mice's cage a person's clothes l people's clothes
sorry, B
I got the two answers mixed up, sorrt
But your not talking about a particular rabbit, so I do not think it would be B
its not B... its A....A
sorry but I got to go now....sorry I wasn't much help
if you look at a person's clothes l people's clothes its not talking about someone in particular either
Look at it this way: If you say "a dog", are you talking about one or more? It's just one, right? Here, it says "a _____". Since it says "a" , it must be singular, which means you are talking about one rabbit. If it said those rabbits or all the rabbits it would be plural, but it does not, so it is singular. There is no possible way it is A or C.
@texaschic101 @paki http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/using-apostrophes-to-show-possession.html You guys check out this website if you don't believe me. It may explain it better than I am.
I would put B because the first choice would be grammatically incorrect, and the 3rd option is saying that there is more than 1 rabbit by having the s at the end :) Hope This Helps!
