Find the area of the square, and then find the area of the circle, and then subtract the area of the circle from the square.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Area of Square: 10*10=100 Area of Circle: pi*25=78.5 100-78.5=21.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, but since the length of the square is 10 cm would the circle's diameter also be 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I left to eat dinner. Yes, the diameter is 10, but the formula is pi*r^2. The radius of 10 is 5, square that and you get 25.
