OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

FAST FAN AND MEDAL A box contains 10 cards numbered 1 through 10. Which events are mutually exclusive? A. A card is drawn from the box and the number is a multiple of 3. A card is drawn from the box and the number is 6. B. A card is drawn from the box and the number is even. A card is drawn from the box and the number is 4. C. A card is drawn from the box and the number is odd. A card is drawn from the box and the number is 10. D. A card is drawn from the box and the number is even. A card is drawn from the box and the number is 8.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Each set of two statements relates to the drawing of a single card. If the card drawn from the box is 10 (an even number) it can not also be an even number. - 4 is an even number – 8 is an even number A– 6 is a multiple of 3 (3 times 2 = 6)

OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

so A?

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Yep!:)

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I don't believe that is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

itzz not a it shud be (c) It cant be a because 6 is a multiple of 3 and the events are mutually inclusive. So it should be c because 10 is an even number and the first case says that it is odd. They both cant occur at the same time.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

A card CAN be a 6 AND be a multiple of 3 - so they are NOT exclusive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt the answer c??
