no not really i am trying my best to help a little cousin out and we cannot figure this one out.

This is actually pretty easy stuff. If my memory serves correct (I will check), the ~ sign means "anything but". The upside down U is "crossover" and the U means "uniting". With this information, you can conclude that "anything but 2,4,5,8" is crossing over "1,3,4,6,7,9". And by crossing over, I mean what do they have in common? Break it down into (1, 3, 6,7, 9,10) crossing over with (1,3,4,6,7,9). What do they having in common? 1,3,6,7, and 9.

So whatever numbers that are in U, but not in A belongs to the set ~A.
