4pi * r^2

surface area of a sphere is given by (4*(pi)*R^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome dear...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to multiply the value of pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4pi * r^2 = x pi = (x/r^2)/4 right? And yeah to get x you can just rearrange it because 4 is what is giving it surface area instead of just area. for example if I have a sphere with a radius of 50 I know that 50^2 = 2,500 I also know that if I multiply that by 4 I get 10,000 so yeah you can multiply radius^2 by 4 and then by pi or by 4pi and you will get the same exact answer.
