Using the terms thermal energy, heat, and temperature explain what happens when we add ice to a glass of lemonade.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When adding ice to a glass of lemonade, the overall temperature of the lemonade goes down while the temperature of the ice goes up. This is because energy always flows to the place with the least energy. In this case, it's the ice. The heat/thermal energy goes from the lemonade to the ice. I assume the system isn't isolated, so the environment has an impact has well. If the outside temperature is warmer that the glass of liquid, then heat from outside the system will go into the liquid too.|dw:1399422763865:dw| To to put it simply, heat from outside->lemonade->ice(that's the general flow of energy in this situation)
