Which of these is the correct sequence of events leading to evolution? A) Variation in species --> natural selection --> differential reproduction --> heredity --> evolution B) Heredity --> variation in species --> differential reproduction --> natural selection --> evolution C) Variation in species --> differential reproduction --> heredity --> natural selection --> evolution

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Hey..@Hlimsweet.. Following are the sequence of evolution: Variation in species -- Natural selection -- Differential reproduction -- Heredity --Evolution..So the answer is A..Hope it helps..:)

Go tell your teacher there is no sequence of events. If there is no genetic variation in a species that no changes will occur. If there are genetic variations but nothing is hereditable nothing will change, etc etc. The point is that all of those need to be present or evolution cannot occur. Evolution is not a series of events but the combination of multiple factors that inevitably leads to change over time.
