Pit bulls, why are they misunderstood? Is it because of the dogfights? On the other hand, is it because of the myth that their jaw locks? Their jaws do not lock in place. Their jaw muscles are just like other dogs just a bit bigger. Its depends on how the dog was raised for it to be a fighter or just a big o’ baby “According to the Centers for Disease Control, these concerns are well-founded, given that: More than 70 percent of all dog bite cases involve unneutered male dogs. An unneutered male dog is 2.6 times more likely to bite than is a neutered dog. A chained or tethered dog is 2.8 times more likely to bite than a dog not chained or tethered. That 97 percent of dogs involved in fatal attacks on people in 2006 (the most recent year statistics are available) were not spayed/neutered.” This is a quote from Pam Reid, Ph.D.; CAAB is the Vice President of the ASPCA’s Animal Behavior Center. Therefore, it really depends on the neutered or the unneutered for the attacks sometimes. The unneutered tries to shows boss if you do not at an age. If you do then it then depends on how you raise it. Some people say that if you raise it like a brat then you are going to get one. You have to be in control not the dog and you have to be calm and patient. Pit bulls are easy to train but the need a lot of love from people and dogs it is best if you do this at an early age but if you cannot try to give it all the love, walking, and playing you can give to it. It will return a favor later on, by loving, you back. They need to be trained properly or ells they will attack other people. "My kids are around pit bulls every day. In the '70s they blamed Dobermans,in the '80s they blamed German shepherds, in the '90s they blamed the Rottweiler. Now they blame the pit bull." - Cesar Millan

Do you need to finish the paragraph or add more details? I think it would be a great conclusive statement to finish you speech with a quote, though you would write/say it aloud like this: The famous Mexican-American dog-trainer, commonly and infamously known as the 'Dog whisperer" once said - "My kids are around pit bulls every day. In the '70s they blamed Dobermans,in the '80s they blamed German shepherds, in the '90s they blamed the Rottweiler. Now they blame the pit bull."

Is this speech for the recent backlash on increase in pit bull attacks?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its for why are they misunderstood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Half a decade ago, the pit bull used to be one of America's favourite dogs, but people abused their authority over the dogs. Really, even specifying the pit bull breed is horribly wrong, as it is a generic term for various breeds. Pit bulls weren't born trying to fight, hurt or even kill other people, but many owners and trainers train their pit bulls to fight. If they don't, the owners execute them in terrible ways. Truly, the list of why pit bulls are misunderstood can go on for very long. People have begun to see the pit bull as a dangerous dog that shouldn't be in communities without appropriate security, like a leash or large gates. Just because the pit bull is strong, they are abused by vicious people. Some are even used as entertainment and put into fights - some to the death. But pit bulls are not inherently evil. People blame them and use them as a scapegoat. As the famous Mexican-American dog-trainer, commonly and infamously known as the 'Dog whisperer" once said - "My kids are around pit bulls every day. In the '70s they blamed Dobermans,in the '80s they blamed German shepherds, in the '90s they blamed the Rottweiler. Now they blame the pit bull."
