undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

A survey was conducted among 400 students of age groups 7-12 years and 13-18 years to find their favorite music genre. The students had to select any one genre out of jazz, rock, and pop. Out of the 200 students in the age group 7-12 years who participated in the survey, 142 liked rock or pop music. The total number of students of both age groups who liked jazz was 72. Using a two-way table, compute the total number of students in the age group 13-18 years who liked rock or pop music. 122 130 142 186

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I haven't heard of a two way table -;( I would like to see how this is done.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@aprilann143 @SithsAndGiggles @skullpatrol @RebeccaB @emcrazy14 @phi please help!

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@SolomonZelman can u help with this one? Jessie has a piece of cardboard with length (2x2 − 4x + 5) inches and width (3x2 + x − 6) inches. Which statement best explains why the area of the cardboard proves the closure property? It is equal to (6x4 − 10x3 − x2 + 29x − 30) square inches which is also a polynomial like the length and width. It is equal to (6x4 + 2x3 − 12x2 − 12x − 30) square inches which is also a polynomial like the length and width. The length multiplied by the width is equal to the width multiplied by the length. The length multiplied by the width has the same degree as the width multiplied by the length.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I am very tired sorry ;-;

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%282x%5E2+ −+4x+%2B+5%29+%283x%5E2+%2B+x+−+6%29+

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

6x^4 − 10x^3 − x^2 + 29x − 30 is the factored length times width.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

If I knew what a closure property... but... Undeadknight, be patient a little bit more...

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

alright ;-; im about to fall asleep on the key board XD

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I thought you should fall asleep on the card board (*_*) @johnweldon1993 knows; I am pretty sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you homescooled or no

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

yeah im homed.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

If it is that expression you wrote above @SolomonZelman then this would be A Closure just means, for example, if you add 2 even numbers.do you always get an even? If you multiply 2 polynomials you must end up with another to have this be a closed set

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

So it is A?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Indeed^

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

What about the first one?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I picked 130.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

|dw:1399507489439:dw| Not too sure...too many unknowns I think...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1399512699687:dw| I think the answer would be 186.
