looks like there could be a couple of right answers, yes?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@brucek69
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah @satellite73
OpenStudy (anonymous):
one answer you can see from your eyeballs
do you see where the line crosses the y axis?

be suspicious of answers without any explanation, they are often if not usually wrong
in this case they are just plain wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
?? ^ @satellite73
OpenStudy (anonymous):
B and C are not correct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you see where the line crosses the y axis?

what number is that?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you see what i am talking about? it crosses the y axis at \(-3\) so the equation will look like
\[y=mx-3\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
M= slope right? @satellite73
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes m is the slope
to find \(m\) you see that as you move to the one unit, the line goes down two units
that means \(m=-2\) and so one answer is
\[y=-2x-3\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
It is E

Ok let me show you
OpenStudy (anonymous):
First you need to find m which is the gradient or slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):
m= slope
OpenStudy (anonymous):
M = rise/run = change of y / change of x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What is the rise in this case? It is 6 because 9-3= 6
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What is the run? It is 3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
M= rise/run = 6/3 = 2

so its gon be D & E?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
nah i think im wrong @Chad123
OpenStudy (anonymous):
But we aren't finished yet
Y-Y1 = m (X-X1)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
We have 2 points on the graph chose only one of them to plug them in the equation. We already know the value of m =2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
LOL :/

I'm going to chose (1,9)
x1= 1
Y1=9
M = 2
Y-9=2(X-1)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So it's F
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I hope you got it :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but its multiple choice tho
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I know. What don't you understand?
