I have the question: the combustion of methane has an enthalpy change of -890 (the equation being ch4+2o2--> co2 + 2h2o) and then the combustion of octane has an enthalpy change of -5472 (equation being c8h18 + 12.5 o2 --> 8co2 + 9h2o) and I am supposed to work out the enthalpy change per mole of co2 produced and hence the number of moles of co2 produced per kJ of heat given out. I don't even know where to start!
