The lengths of the three sides of a triangle are supposed to be 7 cms, 7 cms, and 15 cms. Does this information result in one triangle, two triangles or no triangle at all? one triangle two triangles no triangle at all

OpenStudy (m.d.saxon):

i am confused but i think its one triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One triangle its an equilateral triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No triangle. Sides of length 7 when added together stretch to a length 14, but the proposed third side is 15, too long.

OpenStudy (m.d.saxon):

two triangles

OpenStudy (jack1):

OpenStudy (m.d.saxon):

OpenStudy (m.d.saxon):

o i misread its one triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cannot make a triangle out of these three sides [try it] and you need three sides per triangle. NO triangle.
