An airplane is flying due north in still air at a velocity of 240 km/h. Suddenly the aircraft encounters a cross wind from the west whose vel ocity is 70 km/h. If the pilot does not alter his controls, what will be his new direction and new ground speed? Has the aircraft been accelerated?
