What is the y intercept of 5x + 2y=-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=-1 x=2? maybe

no x=-2 y1 maybe

in order to figure the y intercept a good approach is to put the equation into y-intercept form which is y=mx+b which would give you:\[y=-\frac{ 5 }{ 2 }x-4\] Since the y intercept is where x = 0...simply plug 0 in for x and your y-intercept will be at coordinates (0, -4)...
