What happens when a cell's proteins do not detect a mutation? A. the protein is substituted with a mutation B. the mutation becomes part of the protein C. the mutation leaves the cell before cell division D. the mutation remains with the cell and is passed on in division

D, if it's undetected, than the cell can't fix it and it'll stay there forever. Mutation happens in gene, and even though proteins are made from those genes, it can't be "substituted with it". The structures of the genetic materials and the protein is WAY different. It's like gene is a recipe for cake, and the protein is the cake itself (you can't substitute the cake in a somehow fix the recipe)
