OpenStudy (kkutie7):

I need to determine the average rate of fuel consumption for the ninety minute flight. I have this equation:R(t) = .4t − 20 cos(π t / 45) + 40 where R is the rate gal/min. 1980gals was used on this 90min flight.

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

I'm thinking one of two things..... either the first derivative or 1980gal/90min..... the whole average thing throws me off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wish i could help, but the only thing i can think of is total gallons divided by total time

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

@satellite73 that what I'm thinking, but it just seems to easy right?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

nvm, satellite is right you're given everything already... it think you just need to take the ratio : 1980/90

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

@ganeshie8 my next question is like the link you have given me if you'd like to help.
