find the probability of rolling a sum of 6 with two dice

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

This is how I would approach this problem. 1+5, 2+4, 3+3 are all possible combinations of sums of 6 (saying that lets say 1+5 and 5+1 is the same thing) now, all possible combinations are 1+1, 1+2, 1+3, 1+4, 1+5, 1+6, 2+2, 2+3, 2+4, 2+5, 2+6, 3+3, 3+4, 3+5, 3+6, 4+4, 4+5, 4+6, 5+5, 5+6 6+6 (I wrote the middle 4 rows out, to show how it actually goes but it wasn't really necessary) So there are 21 possible rolls with 2 dices and only 3 of them are sums of 6) So the P= ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is only 3 probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3+3 1+5 2+4

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes, 3 out of 21, which means that P=? (I am not supposed to explicitly say the answer.)
