Find the slope and y-intercept for the following equation by writing it in the form y = mx + b. -5x+y=5 @iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it y=5x+5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that's it? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how to I find the y intercept? Is it 5 or -5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y - intercept is 5, y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y - intercept.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't I get confused by that, probably because it's already a y in the equation lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah people confuse it with y, it's called that because that's where the line crosses the y - axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, to graph it I just plot the point on (0,5) and make the line across that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = how far up x = how far long m = how steep b = where the crosses the y - axis |dw:1400041934053:dw|
