Jenny plans to have two children but doesn't know if they are boy-boy, girl-girl, or boy-girl. What is the probability that she will have two boys?
A. .5 B. .25 C. .75 D. 1.00
I don't really understand how to do this. I thought you would have to take the total number of choices, and basically do 1/3. But none of the answers are 1/3.
is a suppose to be 50? \
No .5 (1/2)
i would say it s a 2/3 but the answer make no scene
It wouldn't be 2/3 because there is only one out of three for a boy-boy outcome.
@kelliegirl33 @SolomonZelman
Well, there are 3 possible ways of having children, and having 2 boys is (only ) 1 way out of the 3 ways. So the probability is ?
1/3, yes, but none of the options are 1/3.
Yes, and none of them are evn close, they are 1/4, 1/2 3/4 and 1 Talk to your teacher about this, because 1/3 is 100% correct .
Ok, thanks.
