Can I get some help? Need to know how to do this Is it a growth or decay? and the y-int. Also how is it graphed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=0.6(\frac{ 1 }{ 10 })^x\] This is exactly how it's written in the book.

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

It's decay and has a y-intercept of 0.6...To find if it is decay, look in the parenthesis if the number is less than 1, then it will be decay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the y-int the number in front of the parenthesis always?

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Yes...it can't be with an x like 2.5x because that would be the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I graph an equation like this?

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Do you have a graphing calculator or an online one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes can I just type it in?

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Type it in to y=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the one I'm doing is a decay and the number in the parenthesis is 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D-4(2)%5Ex

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Yeah it's a little different...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah well now I'm confused...
