Parabola question. Can someone help? I'll post the equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question is asking, "What does the line x = 3 represent in \[y=5(x-3)^2+4\]?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Sorry... I don't know.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x=3? or x-3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sure they meant x-3. A+LS makes a lot of mistakes in their problems.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yeah that is what I don't know

@amistre64 @ganeshie8

& Sammi if you don't know the answer then you don't have to keep posting

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, the equation given is a modification of y=x^2: y=(x-h)^2 has what effect on the graph? any ideas?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

x=3 is axis of symmetry i think

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmm that does seem to be a reasonable interpretation of the question lol
