Challenge: What is the area of the base of a figure if the volume is 210 ft3 and the height is 14 ft?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15.2ft^2

OpenStudy (imyoursquirtle):

explain how u got it plz

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Volume = (Area of base) * (height ) 210 = (Area of base) * 14 Area of base = 210/14 = ?

OpenStudy (imyoursquirtle):

ohhhh wait so u would do the area time hight and that equals it ? @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (imyoursquirtle):

@ganeshie8 so its 15

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Yep !

OpenStudy (imyoursquirtle):

Ur the best @ganeshie8 so u do that every time to find volume right do u do the opposite to find area if they ask

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, that's how I did it too. I just did it in my head though o-o

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yes the only formula we need to remember for prisms is : Volume = (Area of base) * (height)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

when you knw any any two quantities, you can find the other quantity
