In which sentence is the modifier great correctly used? The return on my investment was greater than I expected. The return on my investment was greatest than I expected. The return on my investment was more greater than I expected. The return on my investment was more great than I expected.
@e.mccormick
Well, which do you think and why?
A)
Yep.
do you think this is right?
No.
C?
No, it is not superlative.
so i think its D
Yes. Also, it is clearer to say it does not need the superlative. Ultimate means the best, the top. But when you add the superlative, most, it means well... the best, the top. Ultimate is already there, so there can not be a most ultimate because it is already that.
do you mind helping me with a few more?
I just got paged about something and may need to go. =/
one more?
Was able to remote fix. The joy of reboot switches. They save gas and time.

Do you understand what "positive degree" means?
no
It means the base form, so for tall, taller, tallest: Tall is the base or positive form. Taller is the comparative form. Tallest is the superlative form.
So you got it right, I just wanted to make sure you knew why.
oh ok :) thank you
i think this is right but i just want to double check
Well, be is not the plural. It says there are multiple magazines, so you need the plural.
ok
Yes, that is the plural there. Agreement is about plurality or singularity agreeing throughout the sentence.
