as the particles in a soup reach the boiling point, what do you expect to happen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as particles in a soup reach the boiling point, they begin to move faster. The boiling point of an element or a substance is the temperature at which the vapor pressure of the liquid equals the environmental pressure surrounding the liquid.

What he said, they would increase in kinetic energy. Also, as they change into a vapor/gas phase they would move further apart from each other (particles in a gas are spaced much wider than those in liquids)
