@cielphantomhives
When subjects are joined by either/or, or neither/nor, the verb agrees with the closer subject.
You wouldn't say (as in B) "an apple are a healthy choice for a snack". However, (as in A), it is proper to say "the watermelon is ripe enough to eat". So it's A.
OOh.. Ok! :D In which sentence does the verb agree with the subject? A. Dominoes or a board game are a good choice for tonight. B. Either Mom or Dad cook dinner for the family each night. C. Neither braids nor a ponytail keeps my hair out of my eyes. I think its B cause the verb is next to the subject and modifys it.
@cielphantomhives
While in B it does modify the verb, it doesn't do it properly. "Dad cook dinner" isn't something that is correct. Then, in A, you wouldn't say "A board game are a good choice". So it's C, because you would say "A ponytail keeps my hair out..."
