OpenStudy (anonymous):

someone help me with some inequalities?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ranga

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anybody? for a medal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which inequality matches the graph? -2x + 3y > 7 2x - 3y < 7 -3x + 2y ≥ 7 3x - 2y ≤ 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how to screenshot the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can attach file

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh like you don't know how to take a pic of your screen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mac or windows?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mac

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Press command + shift + 3 to take the image of your screen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And then you can upload it, but you can edit it on paint or something to remove anything important on your screen, don't upload anything you value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it! le tme just attach it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did it(=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cool, so have you tried anything yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i know it is eather B or D because it is a solid line right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its just whn i convert it to slope intercept form to graph it, it has fractions and i suck at graphing fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually you can just conclude what it is by looking at C or D, because it's a solid line as you mentioned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah i meant C or D. and what do you mean? how can i tell which one between C and D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to graph -3x+2y = 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. you change it to slope intercept form which would be y=-3/2x+7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite, that would not give you the specific graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh then thats what ive been doing wrong with this problem

hero (hero):

@lyndsaysturgeon I think you forgot to change the sign when you added 3x to both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lyndsaysturgeon now since you have the mistake figured out, any idea how to graph the inequality?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought you only changed signs when you divide by a negative number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not the inequality, in the algebra, you have -3/2x instead of 3/2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's why you were getting the wrong graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay so i forgot to make it positive? so now i have this y=3/2x+7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, now do you mind drawing both the graphs and then getting back to me with your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well how do i plot the y intercept point of 7/2? thats the other art i think i keep messing up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7/2 = 3.5 a good way to remember these I guess would be to think of it this way, 1/2 = .5, 3/2 = 1.5, 5/2 = 2.5, 7/2 = 3.5, see the pattern?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or you can always divide normally

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so would the answer be d? because the y intercept is a negative 3.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank! can you tell me if i got another one right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just be careful with these problems, go slow, because it's very easy to make mistakes. Especially as you found out with the algebra :d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY thank you so much!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Np
