-9/6 simplified

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Do you know a number that can go into both 9 and 6?

OpenStudy (linn99123):

3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jay....Bunnies has it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think negative 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o-o

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yesh. So we can factor that out. \[\frac{-9}{6} = \frac{-3*3}{2*3} = \frac{-3}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True ;D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm open to say whatever I want

OpenStudy (linn99123):

thank you alot :*

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

The 3's in the middle step in both the numerator and denominator cancel out. This is just a way to write it out. It's easier to just divide both number by 3.
