Can anyone help me with trig? Its a study guide and i only need help on 5 questions. My goal is to ace this upcoming test so I really want to be studying correct problems.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what are the y intercepts of f and g?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which question?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the one you posted .... im not going to click on all of them

OpenStudy (amistre64):

might help if you can define what a y intercept is fo rme

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a point on the graph when x is 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good definition :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i posted 5 questions, im just not sure which one your helping me with

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so, by evaluating f,g,h at x=0, we can determine which one has a greater value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. for the first question i believe its h, but i just want to be 100% sure so i can do great on my test. could you let me know what you think?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

for the next one, g and h can simply be counted by the number of times they cross the x axis so we have to reason for f; its of degree ^3 so it will have at best, 3 places where y=0 (where it crosses the x axis.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this for question 2? i need help with question 1 first hah

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i disagree that h is the biggest y intercept, can you tell me your own reasoning for it?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well stick with q1 for now

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and tell me the y intercepts for f,g,h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really. I've gotta be the worst at math. could you go through each one and find the y intercept? then i can see which is the greatest, while also seeing how you worked it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure how to find them

OpenStudy (amistre64):

use the definition ... y intercept is when x=0 when x=0, what does the mathing produce for us? the trickiest one might be for h, but f and g are childs play

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you know sin(pi), then h reduces to childs play as well

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sites starting to lag ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 for g and 1 for f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem is i slacked off in the beginning of high school, no now im stuck knowing practically nothing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was i right? i doubt it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f= 4(0) + 5 g is drawn in the graph at (0,2) h = 3 sin(2(0) + pi) - 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3 sin(pi) depends on what sin(pi) is equal to ... hint: its a round number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont even want to work it out, if you cant give me the answer then just dont try and help. i dont understand anything
