x(7x-2)+(x+3)^2 will medal

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

*Distribute the 'x' through the parenthesis x(7x - 2) *Expand that binomial (x + 3)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok (7x^2-2x)+(x^2+3x+3x+9)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Right...lets just simplify that second one a bit though....(3x + 3x = 6x right) so we have \[\large 8x^2 - 2x + x^2 + 6x + 9\] Now...combine like terms... like terms mean they must have the same variable...and degree(exponent) to combine for example...x^2 can only be combined with other x^2 numbers...

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Oops...I put 8x^2...it was the 7x^2...sorry about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8x^2+4x+9

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Perfect!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :3

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Anytime :)
