HELP I WILL FAN AND MEDAL You must be under 12 years of age the order from the kids menu at a restaurant.Which inequality represents the situation? let a represent a person's age.

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

um i would have to say x > 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[A. < 12\] \[B. a \le 12\] \[C. a > 12\] \[D. a \ge 12\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lovelyharmonics can you say now

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

i don't really think that lovelyharmoincs is correct. according to the problem, they said that you had to be UNDER the age of 12. what she, i believe, had said was that you had to be greater than 12 in her inequality (x > 12). if you are less than 12 (when a represents that age group), than you can write it as: a < 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think there's a variable missing in A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HHHMMMM .......THERE NOTHING MISSING

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is A. You must be under, but not twelve to be on the kids menu. So you are considering it to be less than 12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOOOOHHHHHHH THANXS

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

i would have gone with b considering the fact that a is only '<12' ..... its missing the variable. did you forget to put 'a' in front of that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YEA SRRY

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lovelyharmonics The second equations states that the variable can be 12, but the question doesn't.

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

true but if there is no variable at all then that option would be wrong. @Boblovesmath

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah but I think he forget to write it down and there isn't an inequality in the world without a variable preceding it....

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

yes SHE* did correct that when i asked her. but you obviously think too highly of my state standard tests...... for i have had several questions with answer options such as that. as stupid as it may sound, i have found them .-. you just gotta look through the mistakes
