Can someone please help me with some calculus problems. I don't understand how to do them. one is posted below.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't see them... or am I just not looking hard enough? ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know why it didn't post

Displacement is a vector, distance is a scalar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So displacement requires magnitude and direction, where distance only requires magnitude.

so, how would I do this problem, my teacher skipped this lesson but gave us problems like this to study for our final and I don't understanfd them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says an object moves from a point of origin 5 meters to the left. Ok so now you want displacement and distance, the magnitude is 5 meters, and the direction is to the left, so all you have to do is, distance = 5m, and displacement = 5m to the left. And you're done. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really? that's it? If I Put up the other ones? and tell you what I believe to be the answer could you possibly check them and tell me if im right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

You should really read on vectors and scalars.
