what is (i)^3?
b
i^3 = i^2 * i i^2 I'm sure you know....
\[i^3=i^2*i=-1*i=-i\]
@navk Was it necessary to give the complete direct answer - in exactly the same form as my posting? Direct answers are discouraged (see Code of Conduct). For someone who is evidently starting out in complex numbers it is not too much to expect them to complete the question themselves from the point of i^3=i^2∗i
Inasmuch as my answer having "the same form as your posting", I did not happen to read your post before printing mine and since this is a simple question and has but one way of solving it, so answers from different people tend to match in their form. Though if it hurt you to see another posting similar to yours, I'm sorry for that.. "For someone who is evidently starting out in complex numbers it is not too much to expect them to complete the question themselves from the point of i^3=i^2∗i" -- I'm aware of this fact, and that is exactly why I did not care to not give the answer directly; For such a one step question as this, and the fact that the questioner apparently solved other questions like this himself (you may know this if you had answered them), there does not really seem to be any difference in giving and not giving the "final" answer, since it would not be too much to expect them to have figured out the answer themselves, seeing that they already did so in some other similar questions of theirs. I am aware of the Code of Conduct. I do try to initiate the problem solving from the questioner itself and it does sometimes lead to THEM solving the question themselves with just little hints from me (examples of which, you can see here " http://openstudy.com/users/navk#/updates/5379a584e4b0f922af0dacde " and " http://openstudy.com/users/navk#/updates/5377b339e4b0f922af0d5355 "). To cap it all I would like to point out that I pretend to be no expert but try to do my best to help answer the question in a way which makes the questioner understand the concept.
@MrNood Please let me know if there are any other discrepancies in my post, or any new ones in the above post.
