Velocity is a vector quantity which includes both magnitude and direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If one component changes the whole quantity changes

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

definitely !

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

A body moving in a circle with constant speed is accelerating every second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thank you !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most people think that only when the velocity changes the [Only the magnitude] acceleration takes place . This a common missconception They don't think about direction

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yes your earlier statement `I think so because change in velocity is acceleration` says it all - to change velocity u need acceleration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, It would be a trick question to ask in MCQ exams

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

haha true lol it does require some neat thinking :)
