You have misunderstood the 2 "Mercury" . The first Mercury you're talking about is the \(\underline {\textbf{element}}\) Mercury (Symbol : \(\color{blue}{\textbf{Hg}}\) ) . It is a liquid at room temperature. The second Mercury is the \(\underline {\textbf{Planet}}\) Mercury. It is a terrestial planet with a rocky surface and metallic core. The both Mercury differ from each other. They're not same. :)

maths lover is absolutely right , there is a tip : that whenever you are having to names of any body or substance try to look on google for the definition , it will help you and clearly solve your confusion .
