6x4 – 9x3 – 36x2 + 54x 6x4 – 9x3 – 36x2 + 54x 3x3(2x - 3)-18x(2x - 3) the answer is (2x - 3)(3x3 - 18x) but i would check it by multiplying it out again

every term has a multiple of 3x in it, so start by factoring out that Common Multiple: 3x ( 2x^3 - 3x^2 - 12x + 18) with the part that is left inside the parentheses, group the terms into two groups (2x^3 - 3x^2) and (-12x + 18) in those groups, find the Greatest Common Multiple in those terms (same thing as first step) 3x [ x^2 (2x - 3) - 6 (2x - 3)] -> the amount factored out of the last set is a negative 6, so that the items left in parentheses are the same. Now you finish it off, the last two Common Multiples you factored out become grouped together, and the two sets that are the same become one group: 3x(x^2 - 6)(2x - 3)
