something i don't know

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

This seems like a question where I need some more information before trying to help you.

OpenStudy (dan815):

not sure @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (dan815):

hes like the jack of all trades he would know stuff like this

OpenStudy (dan815):

you should try adding more information, like anything else you know, some information about how this process generally takes place and stuff, maybe someone can try to help you after getting to know about that stuff

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

This is a chemistry question, not math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick it's still math.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

There are lots of crossovers. Physics, chemistry, electronics, engineering, medicine, sociology, and more all have questions that involve a lot of mathematics. However, the questions can be categorized as to their source by what knowledge is required. If they give you all the underlying information in the question and you only need to do the math, it is generally a math question. They giveaway is that you are not expected to know the other topic. If you must know the other topic, such as the chemistry involved in how water removes Mg3N2, then it is generally a question for the other topic. This is because mathematics alone can not answer this question. There is simply not enough information for math do do so.
