\[(gof)(x)=g(f(x))\]meaning all you do is take the function g(x), and instead of putting x's, you replace those x's with whatever the function f(x) is, in your case, since it's f(-7) that means after you do both of those other steps, you then replace all the x's with -7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i know that but the fraction throws me off on how to get the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[g(x)=\frac{ x+8 }{ x }\]\[g(f(x))=\frac{ (x^2+6)+8 }{ x^2+6 }\]next, all you do is simplify that, and replace the x with -7, solve that and you have your answer

i put C @Embryo

How? remember what happens when you square a negative number? you get a positive number\[(-7)^2=49\]after plugging in -7 to the above function you should have gotten\[g(f(-7))=\frac{ (-7)^2+14 }{ (-7)^2+6 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer then should have been\[g(f(-7))=\frac{ 49+14 }{ 49+6 }=\frac{ 63 }{ 55 }\]
