I WILL GIVE OUT MEDALS PLEASE HELP IM CONFUSED BC IN THE SUMMER AN ICEBERG MELTS AND THERE IS LESS SALINITY BUT WATER ALSO GETS EVAPORATED AND THERE IS MORE SLAT SO LIKE whetttt Describe how the characteristics of ocean water near an iceberg change from summer to winter. A. lower salinity and lower density B. lower salinity and higher density C. higher salinity and lower density D. higher salinity and higher density

OpenStudy (abhisar):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how are u sure

OpenStudy (abhisar):

No it will be A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some people say its d and some sya its c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why a

OpenStudy (abhisar):

wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cold water is more dense than warm water

OpenStudy (abhisar):

it will be C..for sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for sureeee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u know

OpenStudy (abhisar):

in summer, ice will melt and bring brine back to the ocean thus increasing its salinity

OpenStudy (abhisar):

in winter water eill freeze to become ice and density of ice is less than water

OpenStudy (abhisar):

This is how i thought

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the ice melts wont that decrease the salt

OpenStudy (abhisar):

no it will increase the salt.....

OpenStudy (abhisar):

When water freezes to ice......brine (salt water) is captured within it

OpenStudy (abhisar):

and this decreases the salinity

OpenStudy (abhisar):

when it melts...brine comes back to ocean water and thus its salinity is increased

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhoohohoh thank youuuu

OpenStudy (abhisar):

but wait..!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what happened

OpenStudy (abhisar):

its okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thx for explaining it

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@Zale101

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@Somy

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@Destinymasha

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Thnx Aunt @Zale101 !

OpenStudy (abhisar):

It will be B @ashley_everdeen !

OpenStudy (zale101):

Agreed :) No problem

OpenStudy (abhisar):

As ice forms in salt water, there is no room in the crystal for salt. Most of the salt is squeezed out of the ice structure resulting in higher salinity of the nearby water

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then thx

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Anytime !

OpenStudy (abhisar):

u got doubt ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

u bumped the question..that's why i asked ! :)

OpenStudy (abhisar):

In case u cn chck here http://www.usc.edu/org/cosee-west/oceanglobe/pdf/densitysalinity/densityintro.pdf

OpenStudy (abhisar):

:)

OpenStudy (zale101):

we linked at the same time haha

OpenStudy (abhisar):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol no im fine with ur answer thank you so much for helping me and spending your time doing research for me @abhisar

OpenStudy (somy):

lol u answered @Abhisar xD

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yep...@Somy u r late .. !

OpenStudy (somy):

lmao i was sleeping @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

oh...u were online i thought ! :D

OpenStudy (somy):

didn't close os and slept @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

LOL...!! u should at least let ur pc sleep too...that's not fair...u slept but not let ur pc to do the same ...

OpenStudy (somy):

my pc is my knight knights do not sleep while princess is asleep lmao @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Poor pc..he must be wondering to change his job...LOL

OpenStudy (somy):

that surely cannot be. being a knight is an honor :D @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

LOL...my sympathies to the proud pc

OpenStudy (somy):

lmao @Abhisar
